Paralympic skier Anna Turney has been announced as the first ambassador for Heart of England Mencap, a charity that provides support and care, leisure and learning opportunities for adults with a learning disability and their families.

Turney, who suffered a spinal cord injury and became paralysed from the waist down while racing in 2006, said 'I am honoured to be an ambassador for Heart of England Mencap and to support the charity's hard work'.
